I have a customer that just bought 4 new machines, including a BH161f. The 161 is right outside the boss' office. The boss' computer runs 64-bit Vista, and the customer just discovered that the 161 has no 64-bit drivers. Needless to say, the boss is not happy. This could be a case of either make it work or take the machine back.

So is there a compatible HP driver for 64-bit Vista?

I saw this as well. But I'm wondering if there's a compatible HP driver that could be used instead?

That would depend on if your machine is GDI or PCL, if it's pcl then you may have some (limited) success with a generic hp driver... if it's gdi, well, you may have some trouble since those usually are slave machines driven by the software in the pc (the driver does the work). I had a similar issue with BHC350 with a peerless controller no less.. no vista 64 bit drivers.. had to use a BHC351 standard controller pcl driver! (Fortunately that worked very well for the customer).. Regardless, good luck and I hope yours is PCL!

Regards!

The 161f comes with the PCL controller standard. I was able to make it work with the Vista 64-bit driver for the BH181.
