Di-450 with embedded Pi-5501 controller. Parallel Port.

Customer is unhappy with the speed of the NIC. Wants me to get a cable to use the Parallel Port instead for printing (no scan needed). Don't want to spend useless money cause those special cables are rather expensive and I'm almost sure that this will not increase the printing speed (transfer of data).

Any experience with using a Parallel Port instead of the NIC to speed up data transfer/printing please?

BTW the NIC has been replaced already and is according to the specs if compared with other machines in the same set up. I believe the reason for the low speed is that the customer is messing with old/wrong drivers because they had problems printing certain characters properly.

I guess you can do a parallel port, But on 1 Computer ONLY. Try it to connect to your laptop, And your port is parallel port.

Yes you can print parallel with the Pi5501. Its about 100times slower than printing with the NIC.
