This machine seems to receive a brief transmission from somewhere on the network every minute or so, but nothing ever prints out. If we print out a communication log, we get a bunch of "IP-RX" entries, all with the error code "EBE0DD". We can't find this in the manual anywhere. Any idea what could be happening?

That appears to be an abort code....
see your service manual under abort codes..."printer sequence failure" seems to be close, though the code you had shown isn't within the range of what was listed there.
Do you have apple talk enabled in network settings in Administrator? Do you have a Mac on the network?
Reason being is Appletalk is chatty, it never freakin shuts up and keeps doing the "are you there still" query. I generally make sure my mac guys use TCP/IP and get them to disable Appletalk.
