Trying to upload the new firmware from our computer & can't seem to find the USB port on our new Bizhub C650. Someone told us its located under the control panel faceplate??

Check by the network jack behind a cover plate. I usually use the cf card to flash this model.

You cannot use the USB for flashing this machine series.

It can only be done, as Mr. Spock mentioned, through the CF Card port located on the right side right under the video cable port. A small metal cover with one screw, which you remove to expose the port. Firmware Imaging toolkit allows you to write the firmware to the CF Card. 128MB card only, and unfortunately seemingly proprietary. We've tried an assortment of CF cards from different manufacturers and found not all will work. Programming the card was fine, it was inserting card into copier that was problematic. You can purchase a CF card from KM, but at an astonishingly high price tag.

Similarly, you can use ISW to update firmware over the network. Unlike the CF Flash card method, ISW is extremely convoluted and problematic. If I-Option LK-101/102/103 are installed, you can forget using this method, you must use the CF method.
