Hi Guys

I need to change the system board for a X642 MFP.
I have been adviced to perform a POR before attempting this swap
I don't know what "POR" is (should be somethinb with NVRAM settings).

Can you help me please?

Thanks.

Service manual says:

POR = Power On Reset

Under system board replacement it warns you not to replace the Flatbed Interconnect board, System board, and/or Interface Card assembly simultaneously.

Although the manual never actually explains the procedure, to me a power on reset is cycling power off and then on.

If you replace one or more of these you have to power it off and then back on. If you don't the service manual says it will render the machine inoperable. (Probably has something to do with firmware built into the boards).

POR is "power on reset" . When replacing multiple boards, replace one then POR. Replace the next one , POR. Replace the third, POR so on and so forth. The boards write to each other after replacement, so one at a time.
