I have a Konica Minolta 8050 the other day some one in my office was printing to it and stopped a job in the middle of the run. After that time we are not able to see the rip or get into the print menu. Please Help

cycle power on both the copier and the fiery controller and wait about 5-10 minutes.

Are you cycling the power on the fiery controller itself?

It is separate from the machine. Or might be a small box attached to the back side of the copier. It is where your network cable plugs into.

It is on the machine not a separate one. Any ideas on what it could be.

There is a power switch on that fiery. It has to be turned off and then back on again.

Pardon me, I was thinking of the C500 variant of this model which has a slightly different fiery option list.

Yours is an embedded IP 921?

Are you turning off main power to the copier? Switch behind the front door?

Yes 10 or 15 times letting it sit for hours off. Even disconnected the power to it.

On the main control panel, are you able to access the print menu to do a diagnostic or get into the configuration?

I am now getting the impression that you may have to call your nearest service from Konica Minolta. It is possible the Operating system on that fiery has gone south. You might be able to do a "clear server" to correct the problem, or the more drastic "factory defaults" through that control panel. Clear server will erase all print jobs from the print queue and hold queue, as well as any fiery logs. Factory defaults physically resets ALL your fiery settings back to factory (or basic settings when system was last loaded). This is generally not recommended to do without knowing what all the settings were prior to the crash. Usually I recommend to print out a configuration sheet after the last configuration setting (when the machine was first installed for example) and keep that as a backup for situations like this. Factory default will force you to reconfigure all the fiery settings from scratch.

Generally, this is where I recommend you involve a KM network specialist for this machine.

It will not allow me to access the diagnostic menu on the print button on the front of the machine. It tells me that the the software is not installed. Maybe I am missing a step or not going into the correct menu. If you have any ideas that would be a great help. Even walking me threw how to rest the machine to factory settings would be great at this point. Thanks
