Can anyone tell me What error code CE40 mean on a Toshiba E-Studio 3511 means. Our repair man was called 2 days ago. We'd like to try to atleast get the machine running.

From the service manual:
CE40:Image quality control test pattern abnormality: The test pattern
is not formed normally.

Ce40 In My Experience Is Usually A "1st Thing In The Morning Problem". If You Switch Off At The Right Hand Side Of The Machine, Wait 10 Secs Then Back On Again, It Should Clear. I Think It Is Caused By Condensation .it Can Also Be Transfer Belt Failure, Or Paper Rubbing Against The Transfer Belt.

I hate CE40 errors, it's quite a process to find them and clear them, you first have to find out what colour (Australian spelling) is causing the problem, then check the developer is alright, clean the sensors, and do a readjustment, then set error counts back to zero. Best to leave it to the tech.

Toshiba CE40 error.

It because the Developer Unit failed to Pass the Close Looping Check by the machine everytime it boot.... check for fault from 08-824 if the value of any color is " 1 " means abnormal occur.... check for foreign matters on the dev tank...the simpliest weay is clean all 3 tanks...then reset it back to "0" then do a 05-200 and 05-396-4-Fax-1624-Set

95% solved the case

Thanks

WOETC is right could be a few things causing this. The IQC patternn has not formed normally. check 04-270 to check the pattern. It will print it out and you can see it in paper rather than the transfer belt. If it comes out good or bad, scan the image and post it?

Yeah, but more info can always be useful for others with the same issue.
