P-51 is an open front door
The front door pushes a rod that actuates a switch in the back of the machine. If you were replacing a gear for around the fuser this is the general area. Have a look when you open the front door, approximatly above the fuser you will see where the front door pushes the rod. It is a straight line to the rear of the machine where you will find the interlock switch.
It has been a very long time since these machines were current but that should be the area to look.
Cheers.

It should disappear as soon as you close the door. Either the switch is disconnected, malfunctioning or the door isn't activating the switch.
This message had very often with the power supply to do. If you are sure that all the other parts are good then you should think about it.

Make sure the door under the bypass isn't open.
