I have a customer whose office is alomost all Macs, only one PC. The customer can't pull up Fiery Webtools on Firefox or Safari; the buttons won't display because the Java applet fails to load. The PC works fine, and one of the Macs that has the old IE for Mac on it can display it in IE. They're running Mac 10.4.11, and have been for some time. I tried updating the Java software, but it did no good. Any ideas?

Uninstall Java and then reinstall the latest.

Though I doubt this will fix your problem. Safari and Firefox are not compatible with the MIB of KM hardware. You will need to install a variant of IE if one exists for the mac.

Firefox on the PC works fine. And they stopped making IE for the Mac years ago.

Hmmmm....I've had issues with the MIB in Firefox.

It for certain has issues on the latest tuxedo machines.

A silly question, but what version of system software are you running on the Fiery?

Another thing to look at would be trying to install an old version of Java to see if that helps.

If you would like to try IE on another Mac, it can be downloaded from Internet Explorer (Mac) - Download (http://internet-explorer.en.softonic.com/mac)

Firefox should work with KM equipment, but you need to make sure that the plug-ins are enabled such as Flash and Java. It is possible to disable Java from Firefix which could be causing you a problem in it self.

If you go here, https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=java&cat=all&advancedsearch=1&as=1&appid=1&lver=3.6&atype=0&pp=20&pid=5&sort=&lup= you should be able to find the Java updates for Firefox. Try to use the Java console versions which are from Sun.
