I am printing a job with a color similar to PMS 347 but the color changes when you are looking from the left side of the sheet to the right side. The left side is correct but the right side changes to a blue shade. Any ideas on what I can do to correct this problem?

Did you try changing the orientation of the paper for a quick fix? put it in 8.5x11 r and not the standard way ?

Yes I did but not good enough.

Left side and right side is too ambiguous.

Most print issues should be described relative to the machine itself. Feed direction and cross direction, commonly referred to as FD and CD. Feed direction is the paper from lead edge to trail edge as it passes through the machine. Cross direction is relative to the front side of the machine to the rear side.

If you are experiencing uneven density in CD, the likely cause is an uneven charge wire in one of the assemblies. It depends on what colour you are trying to produce to determine which charge assembly is affected. For example, if you are trying to produce a green half tone and the rear side CD is green but the front side is cyan, then the yellow charge assembly is affected. You can test each of the CMYK independently by simply printing a full sheet 13x19 of each to determine which colour is uneven, though in this case, Yellow is the likely problem.

You can swap the yellow charge unit with black to see if the problem moves to the black when you print a half tone of black. If it is, you can carefully unhook the springs on the grid of the charge assembly. On each end where the grid and springs hooked onto the metal tabs, bend those out slightly so you can remove the plastic covers. Once those are off, you should be able to see the charge wire and which side is not placed properly. VERY VERY gently life the wire so it sits correctly...the wire is extremely fragile. When you have made the wire sit evenly, you can put the covers back on, bend the metal tabs back and rehook the grid in place. Do not try to clean the grid with anything other than compressed air to remove the dust.

You should be up and running after that.
