View Full Version : c203 Scan to email only works once in a while.

I have set up a c203 to scan to mail, (I am in a workgroup) worked perfect.
A week later it stop working for some reason, i never found the cause for it.
Suddenly it startet working again, a couple of dayes later it stop working again.
I really don't get a error message, just "scan to mail fail" or something like that.

I have been looking through the webconnection for a log file, but it seems that c203 does not creat one.

Any ideas?

When the device can no longer send through emails, are you still able to print to the device or view the web interface?

Yes, everything else works, BUT scan to email.

I change the smtp adresse, still don't work.
I guess if i wait a few days, it will start working again.!?

Do a ping from 1 PC to another PC on there network and watch the times. Do a -t and watch it for a while. If the time bounces around really bad then you my friend have got a bad router (probably linksys) and it NEEDS to be replace. I did this very thing when one of our customers was complaining that printing was slow on there C250, turns out there times were jumping around like crazy.

It bounces, but not really bad.
Other wise i have no idea what it could be.?

Scans are often large attachments the account your copier is using may be reaching it's quota if the server has limits. That would explain why it stops and starts.

check the job status
job details
scans
job history
highlight job (one that failed)
touch details
post the error message in the upper right corner
