C-3803 Thermistor /1 (TH1) detects a low
temperature when a specified
period of time elapses after the
fusing heater lamp is turned ON
for the fusing ON control.

This most of the time is not a serious problem. Just a protection for the machine against fire. Though in this case, abnormal low temperature is hardly a fire hazard. The fuser, which melts toner to the page, had too much heat sucked out of it while running due to heavy stock or plastic coated paper. Or one of the heat lamps has stopped functioning.

The code event locks the machine down, requiring a tech look at it for safety reasons. A bit switch is toggled to turn off the lock. Change Dip SW 3-1 to 0.

Estimated abnormal parts.

Printer control board (PRCB)
Fusing heater lamp /1 (L2)
Fusing heater lamp /2 (L3)
Fusing heater lamp /3 (L4)
Thermistor /1 (TH1)
Thermistor /2 (TH2)

NOTE
• C-3401 to C-3901 (fusing
temperature related
abnormalities) occur,
be sure to repair defective
parts before setting
the software
DipSW3-1 to 0.
• Setting the DipSW3-1
to 0 with defective
parts not repaired may
result in a fire.

Make sure the connector under the fuser is plugged all the way in. Will blow this EXACT code everytime.....

Try a trouble reset

Power machine off and power back on whilst holding utility/counter button. Keep your finger on until "Trouble reset" is displayed on the LCD screen. Touch trouble reset on the screen (ok will appear below) and power off and back on again. This should clear the code.

I have the same issue, but on a 751.

In order to reset the error do I use trouble reset or the SW setting as mention above?

(DipSW3-1 to 0.

• Set the DipSW3-1
to 0)
