A client has a DI-2510F that has had multiple issues after shipping. The Monica tech worked in the machine for over a month to make it work at all. Now that it is working, all prints come out shrunk and squat. The tech now says they need an mfb3 board (part #4384-1048-01).

Does this make sense?
If not, what else could it be?
If so, what else could it be?
Does anyone have other sources to buy this board or other parts?

Thanks.

I always found these machines to be quircky at best. Too much tech/Not enough cooling.

Did the tech change the laser unit? If yes, he might got the wrong one. Each machine (speed) has its own dedicated laser unit.

The mfbs-3 does all of the creative thinking. It can be the root cause of a lot of issues.

If the 3510 MFB3 board is put into the 2010/2510/3010 series, it will produce the issues you are seeing of shrinking image on copies. The tech is correct, and that is the correct part number for the board you need.

Better get a junker for 300.00 USD or so. Lot's of usable parts for that price.

Since it was shipped, i would rather first check the scanner. The shipping company might have tied it down a little too hard on the scanner in order to keep it stable. Give it a little upward twist , just so it looks level with the rest of the machine , then see what it does.

You should be able to eliminate the scanner by doing a test print. Since it has the fax you can print a activity report or whatever, if it still occurs you knwo the scanner is fine.

Sorry missed that part. End users do sometimes mix up one or the other or call them both the same or whatever. I would tend to agree with the MFB board as well.

Any idea on where to buy a parts machine? I get that the price is high, but I have no source whatsoever on it. Thanks.

Maybe you can find a dealer who has some of these models scrapped...you might get a reasonable price that way. Other than that I don't really know where to get parts personally.
