It's been a couple of years since I last serviced a C6500. I'm curious as to what are the main differences, quality and otherwise, between these two machines. Are there any worth mentioning? Or are they the same as the C500 and the 8050?

Good morning mr who, the 6500 and 6501 are pretty much the same box, with the exception of some of the accessories that can go on each. I know the coronas, toner bottles,and image processing boards are different from one another.

Thanks for the feedback. So, quality-wise, it's basically the same machine. I'll assume that the C6501 already has all the improvements and modifications made to the C6500 prior to its launch, right?

Density Evenness adjustment feature.

Mostly mechanical improvements here and there. PF601 vs PF602 is the most striking difference. On a 6500, if you've ever had to replace the guide plates (the plastic guides) on the paper feed mechanism because the rack gear part of it broke, you need to order a whole new guide, but the part has changed. The new part will not fit on the old assembly, so you need a new guide frame along with the front plastic guide. The 6501 PF602 has all these changes.

Other than that, not a whole lot of difference. A few panels different. The difference Horse pointed out.

Density Evenness adjustment feature.

Is that useful or just a gimmick? :)

Stirton: Never had to service a machine with a PF installed - only "lite" machines.

Partial Magnification Correction Mechanism on the front of the process unit. Density Evenness adjustment does work if you do it correctly.

Wow....aren't you the lucky one....

Are you being satirical? Or are those PFs really that bad? They seemed quite solid to me...

Satirical is right on the money. :p

They are not too bad. Bit of a pain to set up correctly, especially if the floor is uneven. If not set up correctly, skew is the biggest issue, along with front to back registration problems relative to the mainbody. But all in all, I would rather have these than the LU202 or just bypass. The latter two are pretty limited relative to the PF unit, one on sizes, the other on volume.

*Density Variation Enhancements
*Writing lens material changed to lower moisture-absorption level to
counter effects of humidity.
*Lens Adjustment mechanism to alter beam shape.
*Wavelength plate adjustment added.
*Charging wire.
*Change of screen dot to improve density fluctuation and gradation.
*Independent density adjustment.
*Fine adjustment to density by user added.
*14 point measurement to evaluate density.

*Increased toner capacity / yield
-Black: 690 -> 710 g + 3.0 %
-Color: 460 -> 500 g + 8.7 %
*Changing Toner Bottle (Toner Key) Incompatible with C6500

And Moore, as PF602.................

I am thinking of buying a Konica Minolta 6501 but would like to ask users of this machine what they think of it? Do you have any problems?

Same problems, better performance, in my opinion the Bizhub C6501 has a better image quality, regardless of the changes that KM made to improve the functioning of its previous version.

Do not forget to check the use we shall give this system, KM now has a new version for production systems, Press Bizhub C8000, as well as looking at this thread are trying the main deference between Bizhub C6500/C6501.

Thanks, but what are the 'Problems'? I was going to buy the 5501 but decided on the 6501 due to the increased speed. I was thinking of a Xerox 700, but after having print tests etc, decided on the KM 6501.

ok, to summarize if you're not technical, in the Bizhub C6501 resolved many of the problems that had the Bizhub C6500, so also achieved a relatively higher image quality.

I said, same problems, because you must bring the Bizhub C6501 Preventive Maintenance in the same way it must do so within Bizhub C6500.

personally i never met a Xerox 700, but if I could see DocuColor C253, my opinion is that they all have some advantages and disadvantages, I understand that Xerox, for example, has a much higher cost per print that a The KM Bizhub, but its quality and performance are not higher, maybe a little more to achieve saturation in some respects, but I can well say that the Xerox screening is very good.

Well we can spend hours talking about differences, it is best that you clear what you need and compare in person or hire someone to do this work.
