I Have a C451 which is producing a loud noise and there are two bands running throught the copy/print top one is greenish and bottom one id magenterish even on black copy/print.

I thought it must be a transfer belt prob so repalced it but still exactly same prob - HELP

As its very noisey Im thinking it may be laser unit but that exspensive to replace on a hunch. It still copys/prints but looks very grainy/washed out.

I HAVE ATTACHED SCAN OF A COPY FROM THE MANUAL

If it sounds like a router going through plastic then check the transfer belt cleaning unit drive gear (machine side not on the unit). I have just replaced my 3rd set of these. There is an updated gear, bracket, shaft and spacer to improve the reliability of this unit.

We are also a DEVELOP dealer. You can get a pretty good idea of how to get to the gears from the theory of operation manual.

Good luck.

Bloody gear has gone again - the collar mentioned in the tech info did not have a part so i used a plastic part - I think i need to fit the gear and the collar at same time anyone got an idea of the part number for the collar.

Hi,

I had the exact same issue, failed transfer/waste drive gear failed, I ordered the gear "A00J228100" but KM sent the modified gear"A00J228111" but this was too big to for in the old style bracket!
Can I use the old collar " A00J 2283 00" with the new parts does anyone know as I have ordered this as the bulletin didn't have the part number for the new collar!?

We've got a similar issue.

The gear, shaft and collar and bracket are modified but the bracket that the modified gear sits on is too short and there is no modified part number for this bracket.

Any ideas??
