After the main body paper exit sensor (PS13) is turned ON, RU entrance sensor (PS1) is not turned ON within the specified time.

Description
RU-503/RU-504, J-7540 or J-7541 jam code. Paper jamming at the main body exit area.
Solution
PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. The RU paper entrance sensor (PS1) is not being activated or incorrect options are installed.
Please check the function of RU paper entrance sensor by entering the service mode and accessing the I/O test mode. The sensor is checked via code 75,
multi-mode code 46. Make sure the sensor changes state when blocked. To verify option-compatibility, please refer to the attached documentation. Usually
the combination of RU-504 and LS-501 causes the issue of J-7540 or J-7541 codes.
Note : To viewthe PDF, you may need to download a free copy of Adobe ReaderŪ.

2. Possible incorrect alignment of the rod shaft on the main door cover/3, alignment to the door interlock switch (p/n 12QR 8601 1 - Key #3 on page 3 of the
RU-503/RU-504 Parts Guide Manual).
Check the alignment of the rod/shaft to the door interlock switch for proper actuation. Also check the operation of the switch in the I/O mode.
Notes :
a.For best results, viewing and performing this adjustment should be from the back of the machine/RU with therear cover removed.
b. J-7542 may also be indicated.

3. Paper dust on the de-curler sensor (PS62).
Note : Paper jamsexiting the ADU section when face down copying/printing. There is no paper in the RU.
CleanPS62 (p/n 13QA 8551 1).

4. A failed reverse/exit sensor (PS19) or actuator.
Replace the reverse/exit sensor (p/n 08AA 8551 2) or actuator (p/n 65AA 5131 1) as necessary.
Note : Paper is stopped in the reversing section.
