I recently implemented a Windows 2008 domain on my network. When I try to set up the scan process on my 7145 I get a N33 error. Typical setup is as follows:

IP Address: 192.168.100.62
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.100.1
DNS: 192.168.100.10 This is my domain controller which also provides DNS to our network
DNS Host: Konica7145
DNS Domain Name: My Windows Domain Name

I set the users up to go to their own folders on a server. A typical user setup would be as follows:
Name: Me
Host Name:Server1
Folder: ScanMe
UserName: Administrator
Password: Admin Password

Does anyone have any idea why this does not work?

Thanks in Advance.

Description

N-33 error when scanning to SMB. The shared folder is on the domain server and the user account has full control of the folder.

Solution

CAUSE: Scanning SMB to a shared folder of a domain controller is not possible as there is no workgroup name associated with this server.
SOLUTION: Create a shared folder on a non-domain server or workstation. When configuring SMB scanning on the scanner use the workgroup name of the
workstation/server.

Hope Konica doesn't come after me for copyright infringement. Good luck!

From memory, these machines are only capable of NTLM v1 which means that they can't communicate with Active Directory properly. Try setting up a scan folder on a workstation and adding a local username and password and try that to see if you can get that to work.

Yup that is correct that machine is too old for 2008 server. NTLM V1 only. The earliest model i managed to install on 2008 was C450's with new firmware updates.

There's a problem (on Ricoh machines) with SMB scanning using Server 2008. Apparently, if you disable SMB2 the machine can then scan.
