Are you sure it is a 2556 code? That code indicates an abnormally high toner condition, not a low condition, according to the manual. In tech rep, what is the TCR reading indicate?

It seems you did all the standard fair regarding what to replace. It could be a shorted harness for the unit causing the problem. You'll need to have a friend help you meter that out, not so easy trying to reach both the front and back side. The P8 code is related to the issue, not an additional problem. Check the toner density control in tech rep to ensure that is not set to 3, if not, change it to 0 or lower. Check the IU in another machine if possible to eliminate the possibility the problem is in the IU itself. Run a bunch of half tone test patterns to reduce the levels.

thnx you for your help like u say this is not normal..machine is indicating high concerntration of toner whilst the machine is straving..the atdc set was reduced to zero the -2 no change in the code.
the tcr reading is aprroximately 13 percent.

i am starting to think that it could b an electrical short or something in the wiring...
