Hi there I have a Bizhub B&W which I tried o upgrade firmware……
It worked until I turn the machine off…..
Now I get a blue screen and after a 3-5 sec the DATA led turns on but nothing else…
I tried another ram pack and nothing (from another biz 500- just to see if turns on or not)

Hi there pretty sure that you will have to redo firmware. What was the initial firmware? Might need to start with version 20, and maybe ganges boot.

What Version are you going to and what version Are you at. I think at version 20 you do the boot and then when the screen comes up blank, start the firmware and ignore screen and it will work. Follow the readme instructions.

Firmware related. Like what was previously mentioned, you will more than likely have to reflash the f/w. Send the boot (ganges) file first than follow it up with ver20. Then upgrade to ver 31 after that....gotta do it in stages depending on the level of f/w

You can extract the boot sector by making a small adjustment to the ISW firmware program. I'll see if I can find the bulletin on it.

Sounds like the NVRam to me... If you swap it out then you have to use the hard meter.

The easiest fastest fix, is if you have a working BH 500, copy the files from its CF Card ( be careful not to format the card )and paste them onto the CF Card of the non working machine. The only issue with using this method is all the information from the working machine ends up in the other machine so you have to do some reconfiguring once its up and working.

SOLUTION: To enable the boot file to be loaded into the ISW utility, perform the following:
1. Using Notepad (or another text editor) open the ”ISWTrns.INI” file from the C:\Program Files\KONICA MINOLTA\ISWTrns folder.
2. In the environment setting, change [EASYTRNS_MENU_DISPLAY] from [FALSE] to [TRUE] and save the file.
3. Restart the ISWTrns tool.
4. In ISW, Select the [EasyTrnsFile (T)] dialog from the Options(O) menu.
5. Browse to the boot file.

The boot file is in the version 20 firmware.

I have Ver 31 Only. I Have gone straight to that before after a F/W F***up. Have you tried just reloading what F/W you have? Just a thought.
