Well in any case, you need to fit a new CYAN IU.

If you have another used Cyan IU, try it to see if problem changes.

Else you can try to add toner from the tech rep mode and see if problem goes away permantently.

If nothing works, then my betting money goes to a new Cyan IU.

It is possible, but if that was the case, your machine would show that defect in all colours. Since only the cyan is failing, we're assuming your cyan IU was chipped (reset) and thus it is probably not new. Look at your Cyan drum: does it look entirely new? Or do you see a big difference between the edges and the center?

A level machine is important, but mainly to keep it from rolling around. If it was unlevel, you would see the issue in ALL the IUs, not just a single one. The IU's sometimes die prematurely.

As mrwho stated, the "add toner" command in tech rep may correct this issue and sometimes does, though not often.

To troubleshoot individual colors; On the panel, where you choose black or color copying, press "Single Color". Then you can make a sky shot of each of the colors. Make a Cyan print, a magenta print, a yellow print. Your sample is obviously cyan failure.
