MFP is at ver B8, MFP has a Fiery, customer has emperon drivers for banner printing and Fiery driver for everything else. Banner templates are Power Points downloaded from KM website. Issue...Banner has a team logo with black background and team name printed in yellow accross black background. All looks well in "preview" , but when printing, the yellow letters fail to print, nothing but the logo and 40" of black background. 2nd banner has team logo with green background and black letters. On this one the logo and letters print, but green background does not print. When both files are sent to a 81/2 x11, job prints fine (using the emperon and Fiery drivers). Nothing I've changed in the driver properties has made any difference. any thoughts? PS teams are Steelers and Packers and customer is making around $15 bucks a pop for these and of course this job is now the most important document in the world (at least until Monday morning). Can you save them as a PDF and print them? I know this can solve alot of issues from Publisher, etc... Sounds like how the images are layered is causing the issue.

I agree with Big Papa, seems like a layering issue.

Alternatively, may depend on which driver is being used. If you have a fiery, use the fiery drivers, if no fiery, use the emperon drivers. Some graphics and text anomalies may be due to how the file was created and may print differently between the PS and PCL drivers. If you are using a universal driver, dump that POS and download the machine specific drivers for your machine.

If the file is a PDF already, when you go to print, before you select properties to change the print parameters, there is a button at the bottom left of the first dialog that appears, called "Advanced". Select that and on the new window, check the checkbox titled "print as image". This will flatten ALL the separate elements of the file and rasterize the image as a single entity at the computer and send the raw data that way, rather than let the MFP figure out what to do with the graphics.

I was under the impression (told by App Specialist) that the Fiery did not support banner printing and that is why the customer is using the emperon driver. I did try to send the job using the Fiery and "print as image" but each time the MFP generates a "job deleted, banner print" message. Emujo

Refer to Chapter 12-11 in the Printer Operations Guide for details, but it would seem from what I could find, that banner printing is not supported on the Fiery. At least, I cannot find reference to banner printing in the fiery user guides, nor the TSB on the IC-412. I would have assumed it was supported, given the machine is capable of doing banner printing, but it would seem this is not so.

Use of the empiron separately is fine I guess. The user can still access the web interface for the MFP itself, and if need be, using CWS, access the controller settings.

Additionally, an OT-503 must be installed, the standard finisher cannot be installed. Ensuring the proper paper length is set as well as thick 1 for the paper type is also mentioned.

This 652 has a FS527, other than selecting banner print in the user mode, no other changes are made to the MFP (older C353 for ex, you had to pull the finisher away from the main body).Anyway, since these "App secialists"are paid to figure this stuff out, I have one visiting the account and will post what the outcome is.
