Hi All ,

Recently i met a funny problems with one of my machine Canon iR3300 ,

Once after the Loading Bar finish load Error msg with E246-0002 will appear , tried to clear the error for alot of times , even clearing the whole CLEAR section would not solve the problem. In the services manual or hand book there is no such code.

Even after i changed the 3 Main Item ( Main / IP / HDD ) taken from a working machine... E354 Popup.

Anyone who is helpful please reply me with solutions.

Thanks first

Yes the 246 Error is a counter board Problem,
The values are changed after your harddisk got Reset,
Change the board or reset the problem will be cleared

I have tried all the resets in the service mode and have had no luck. Any other suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

I can't find an error E2460, E246 is "Reading from/ writing to the soft counter memory cannot be done properly."

E354 is:

•When turning ON the power, inconsistency of the serial No. of
the serial number PCB and that of the controller PCB
(SRAM)/counter memory is detected.
•When turning ON the power, it is detected that no serial
numbers are assigned to the serial number PCB and the
controller PCB (SRAM)/ counter memory.

I hope that helps. If there is a method of assigning serial numbers to stuff that may fix it.

Okay, I will play with that and see how that works out. The root of the problem is installing an ethernet card into a unit that wasn't previously set up for it and getting the E246 error as a result. I have the V3.35 SST but for some reason it doesn't want to accept the firmware file that I have been provided. Right now I have so many variables that I cannot confirm for certain as to whether or not they are functional that I am quickly losing what little is left of my hair.

It would have ben helpful if you had said that you had connected an ethernet card in the first place when you first posted in the thread. Problems can have a number of different causes and saying what you've done recently can be helpful in pinpointing the problem. Did you install an upgraded boot rom or just the nic (network interface card)? Do you have the firmware for both the IR3300 and IR3300N? Have you tried upgrading the IR3300 firmware, then installing the firmware for the 3300N? Have you tried updating one thing at a time (e.g. system software, rui etc)? Are you using an IEEE1284 (aka bi-centronics) parallel cable as was commonly used with scanners or the nethawk usb-parallel cable or something different (which probably won't work) to try and download the firmware? Have you set the copier into download mode before transferring the firmware? You say firmware file. Is it one file such as an iso? You need to extract the contents or burn to cd (in such a way that extracts contents of the file) before you can use it.

I hope this helps. I'm sure you will have done some of these but if you've forgotten something that could help you install your firmware which should fix your problem.
