Kip 7100 dark spot on scanning

I have a kip 7100 that only puts a 4" dark line down the middle when scanning to file only. Does not effect printing at all.

Any idea on what it could be or how to fix it? I have old calibration software for a kip 3000 scanner, can i use that to recalibrate a 7100 in the same way?
