Typical, you demo a machine for somebody and they run the bag off of it.
Then, to top it off, they don't buy it.

Be careful with that, you could end up screwing up the consumable counts. We tried it once with a Kyocera KM-C1530 (same as Minolta, don't remember exact model). The boss thought the machine had been reset because it had a low meter, but looked old and worn. So, I found a jumper on the main board that reset the electronic meter. Unfortunately, it caused all the metered consumables (fuser unit, transfer unit, image units, etc) to reach end of life (electronically). It cost over $1,000 to satisfy the boss's curiosity.

How about the fact that it is unethical?!?! Is there no honesty left in this field? Every salesman wants his machine to have 000000 on the counter. Well tough shit! The copies are run, Live with it!

I had a dream and the honesty remains.
The machine is in personal use :)

He should use the amazing firmware imaging toolkit for loading the card for this beast which I have come to find out will work for the older models also and its much easier to use than the Cygwin nightmare!

But to answer the original thread question yes you can zero out the electronic counters and quite simply. Its all in the field service manual and its not hard to find so I suggest you start reading as I have a problem clicking meters in a southern direction.............. any of you guys remember the refurb copier frenzy of the mid to late 90's? Dealers would do a thorough PM in their shop click the meters back to 0 and put a refurb sticker on the back of the machine stating that the meter may not reflect the true copy count........... what a crock! I also remember being able to jump 2 points on a old Sharp like the 8100/8260/8200 and you could program the electronic meter to what ever you want, gotta love it!

probably best to leave it alone bud..reasons like unethical and illegal are pretty good reasons..not to mention, if it's in "personal use", what's it really matter what the counter has on it..best wishes in whatever ya choice may be..

So if your capable of flashing the firmware I take it your capable of reading the service manual? If so pick it up, open it and find the info, its right there, trust me!
