Hi Forum,


I have a Canon ir 3300 and need the system software, can somone let me know where I can get it. Also the boot rom that is upgraded during the sst install does my ir3300 require a certain build for the rom or does the sst software detect the version of rom and load the respective rom software build?

Any help would be greatly appreciatted at this point!!

Hi,

SST is a program only released by Canon Inc (Japan) and then you local country so Canon usa. The bootrom and system versions are updated regularly and each new version just has a few small fixes in it, by now the versions should be as updated as they can be so not many new versions will come out. The current problem with the 2200 series is the latest version of SST v3.34Ej has a problem with formatting the 2200 HDD and downloading the system software. the older version v3.11 does not have that problem. The firmware as long as it is v16.01 or later will be ok. SST is pretty simple and touchy so it will only do what you tell it to do, it wont pick the firmware best suited to the machine.

In respect to where you get it, Canon!! Thats it! (as far as I know) i've never had to look elsewhere. But if you want the real thing and not the wrong thing, then canon are the ones. You need a tech like me!!
