hi, I have a problem with the doc feeder skewing
slightly I think I figured it out it has to do with the metal bar, or the plastic turn guide right before the metal plate (hope I am describing this correctly) also the machine then started feeding two sheets when only one is in the feeder, I think that was because the machine was under a flourescent light. now this machine is not copying off the glass, but it will start feeding from the feeder without paper
in the feeder.....TIA Patricia

SOUNDS LIKE THE PAPER PRESENT SWITCH IN THE FEEDER IS EITHER
STUCK OR THE ACTUATOR FOR THE SWITCH IS MISSING SO IT
THINKS THERE IS PAPER IN THE FEEDER ALL THE TIME.
AS FAR AS THE SKEWING GOES YOU MAY HAVE WORN FEED ROLLERS
AND OR WORN SEPERATION BELT OR ROLLER DEPENDING ON WHAT
IT USES. IF THE ROLLERS ARE GOOD YOU NEED TO CHECK THAT THE HIEGHT
OF THE FEEDER IS THE SAME ON THE FRONT AND REAR . UNEVEN HIEGHT
IS THE MOST COMMOC CAUSE.

For a start you should make sure all the sensors on the DF are clean (use Alcohol) check the sensors under Mode 5 in SP Mode against the Service Manual. Make sure the Feed tyre, belt and sep roller are within life, if not these should be replaced to help troubleshooting.
