I'm looking at a C250 that's asking for paper when using the bypass tray.

The two bypass sensors (the paper detect and the clutch position) work fine, and the machine detects when paper is placed on the bypass when looking at the "Paper" tab (the icon changes from empty to full).

When trying to copy or print from the bypass the machine starts asking for paper on the bypass even though there's paper on it, all this without activating the motor and trying to pull the paper.

I'm out of ideas. Anyone want to take a shot and give me any hints?

Solved. It is simple when you know about it.

The data for the manual bypass tray adjustment is corrupt or missing. Perform the manual bypass tray adjustment:

1. Enter the Service Mode.
2. Select Machine.
3. Select Manual Bypass Tray Adjustment.
4. Select Max Width.
5. Load the bypass tray with a piece of paper 301mm wide.
6. Press the Start button.
7. Select Min Width.
8. Load the bypass tray with paper 89mm wide.
9. Press the Start button.
10. Select End.
11. Select Exit.
