My wife has a C450 in her home office. I have networked it so we can share in its glorious power and stuff.
We were unable to scan and save the files to our Win7 computers using SMB. WinXP on the old IBM T30 was great, but for Win7, not so much.
I found one thing... very important... when you create your folder, you must share it within the new Win7 HomeGroup concept.
Right click on the folder
select Share With...
select Specific People...
On the next dialog box, if Everyone isn't in the list, add it. This is done by selecting from the pull down menu, Everyone, and pressing Add.
Make sure Everyone has Read/Write access.
select Share. It might take a moment.
I then scanned and the darned thing actually worked!
I know others were having this problem, and the fixes appeared very complex and not necessarily applied to my smaller network environment. I hope others can benefit from this fix.
