Unfortunately it seems so. There is a mod for the transfer belt unit that puts a skew on it to match the slew on the stock ! It does make it better, however 0.5 - 1mm slew can remain and you can't get rid of it.
Are you in the UK ? Your KM tech specialist should be able to supply the mod.

How much skew are you getting and is it as bad from main body trays?

its from all intrernal and paper feed unit trays, about 1 to 2mm. My customer doing 80gsm no problem, but over 200gsm duplex with crop marks sticks out like a sore thumb!! :(

richd (see above) and me had some joy with this yesterday - we even removed the mod and output was still good on a machine that had always been a problem.
Ensure firmware is on I GCE-32 and C G00-32.
Reset any settings in the Both Sides screen.
Set CD-Mag Skew Adj. to 0 - immediately go to Print mode and produce test print for adjustment to take effect (if it already is on 0 it may be worth changing this, doing the test print, then reset to 0 and redo the test print).
Set Restart timing for each tray and ADU, centering etc.
From CWS 5, carry out Tray Alignment for each cassette
Ensure the Tray Alignment tick box is ticked (cannot be set to Auto tray switch)
Test - worked for us, hope it helps

Hi I know that this is a extremely old post, but do you happen to have the part number for this modification?
