I have this machine that is using up coronas in 40 to 50 thousand copies. Replaced sep unit and main charge because I thought I saw cracks in them. Back there today for same prob after 43000 copies. Any suggestions? Thanks.

We usually replace them at 120k, and they get once or twice a cleaning in between. What are your symptoms??

I have had that same issue with the black wavy lines. Replacing corona grid / wires doesn't fix it.

I had to change the F6-17. I don't remember which way I bumped it, up or down but I had to change the default setting by 30 points and it fixed the issue. 8060, 8045, and 8035 all (1 of each had this issue) with over 450k on the meter.

What is the default set at?

F6-17 defaults at 0. The black wavy lines I've had were usally not from coronas, more dev unit-mag roller related.

You may want to try a new grid with the new wire. Another thing would be to replace the charge corona unit as a whole. They are not that much. Let us know what you find as a fix.

I am interested in the f6-17 route. Never changed this setting before. Won't see this machine for two months( hopefully).

I go "+"20 at F6-17........setting it too high will cause the developer discharged onto the paper..........I suggest go increment of '5' each time, then restart he machine n try to print the page memory test

I have looked at a few in the field and they are set to (-30). Keep in mind, I just started servicing these a few months ago. Just thought I would put this out there.

Try turning Quantum (F5-25) off then set F6-95 to +3 and 6-96 to +15.

I refer to the black wavy lines as "smoke lines". This happens all the time on this model. I start with the charge wire, then the grid. Over time, the rear metal post the wire attaches to will melt and deform the plastic surrounding it, causing image issues. Also check the 2 screws that anchor the transfer/sep corona under the drum. This is the arm lifted to remove a duplex jam, make sure it has no wiggle.
