anybody help me, missregister duplex only on 2nd side app. 5mm on BH C 8000 ( for 1st side ok)?

Symptom:


2nd side image sometimes shifts 3 to 5 mm during the continuous duplex printing.

Cause:


a) Mismatch of DIPSW and Conveyance drive board
As the design of the conveyance drive board and ADU is changed, the new ADU drive control was introduced. If mismatching the board type and software control, image misalign on the 2nd side occurs.
When the conveyance drive board is A1RFH06015 (new, or newer), set DIPSW38-2 to 0.
When the conveyance drive board is A1RFH06004 (old), set DIPSW38-2 to 1.
* Apply the main body FWver.15(I-ROM), ver.13(C-ROM) and later.

b) Adjustment failure of the main body tray/position accuracy and adjustment failure of PFU

PF4,5,6 but only at 2nd side.

i'm sure, the CDB part number is newer and dipsw38-2-0, and still occure missregister 2nd side 5mm.

I found that performing centering adjustment for all tray in service mode and turning off automtic centering adj for adu and pfu helps also konica likes short grain paper. I advise to obtain a copy of the paper substrate guide for the c8000 to get an idea what paper type and brand works best.

I also find best solution is to switch off auto centering and then carry out centering adjustment for all trays.

Ok I got it.
- **make sure backside magnification is turn on. (Find in common settings)**

- zero out all centering adj for trays

- turn off auto centering for adu and pfu

- carry out centering adj for 1st side

- turn back on auto centering for adu and pfu.

- adj centering for 2nd side (adu)

Keep in mind konica spec is +/- 1.5mm both sides

Also using both sides adj\image shift will help on diffrent media types when registration an issue. Turning on backside magnification will enable you to perform image shift on 2nd side @ machine control panel.

Also if skewing is an issue on 2nd side lead manually adj adu position (painful)

If the black guide in ADU entrance ( p/n A03U841000) , which is used for automatic centering with optical sensor, becomes discolored there are chances to have such image missplacement on duplex. There is a mod ( p/n A1RF855600 ) black plastic with adhesive to attach to the guide and you will get extended life expectancy as it has better frictional resilence to paper passage than the original ADU Guide Plate/D.
