I get an intermittant 52.0 error on my hp4050 other then that it works fine, nice CQ, runs clean. I cleaned some contact and blew out some switches. Does anyone have info on this code?

I don\'t see a 52.0 in the book, only a 52.1 and a 52.2? Check your code again but it sounds like a laser issue. Here\'s what the book says.

52.X PRINTER ERROR The Laser Scanner speed is incorrect.
    X Description: 1 = Scanner startup error, 2 = Scanner rotation error

    1. Press [Go]. The page
    containing the error will
    automatically be
    reprinted.

    2. Turn the printer off and
    then on.

    3. Reseat cables. See the
    wiring diagrams at the
    back of this manual.

    4. Replace the Laser
    Scanner.
I'm going back to Cali, Cali, Cali...

Thanks, it was a 52.2, do you have a manual for this thing? is it worth replacing the laser?

        Replace scanner

The 4050 is a great printer. A new scanner costs about $160.00. You can buy a color laser for less than $300. Tough choice.

I'd replace the scanner if I don't have a need for color.
