C451 bad print like defect memory

Hi folks!

We have a C451 with an imageerror like I know from defect MFP-board on C353-series. The printout is covered with lines in all colours against the running direction. The error occurs on printing and copying.
We changed the MFP-board and the memory-dimms. We also made a FW-update.

I'm open to ideas...

Well scanning in a pic of the problem is usually helpful. I'm going out on a wild goose chase here, Is it a new board? Are the colored lines spaced evenly? Did your bad memory not include going thru machine set up procedures and produce the lines?:confused::confused:

Here is a copy-sample. The same lines are on prints. The MFP-board is new.

wow, I've never seen it that bad before.

i regularly see image data corruption on these machines (451 series and 452) when the mfp / memory fails and replacing both for new always fixes it.

hopefully the memory you installed was brand new, and you used an anti-static strap when installing it all.

does the machine by chance have a fiery ? I have heard rumors of bad VI cards causing such issues...

WoW, I agree that is bad! Did you miss a chip when you swapped it over? Or is this a possible different board made after tsunami? Tech bulletin on that.

Actually, now that i look at it....

Does the image go all the way to the edge of the sheet or is it within the printable area ? IE, is that white boarder only there from scanning, or is that what it looks like ?

If it goes to the edge of the page with no boarder, id be suspect of PRCB failing to synchronize the polygon motor in the printhead successfully. An error code should be generated in such an event, but maybe the board is sufficiently screwed to not know what the hell is going on...

PRCB is what id try next regardless, then print head.

There is no white boarder an the page. In the example the white boarder comes from the scan.
The idea with the PRCB is good. Our KM-Technical-Support-Specialist says the laser are not the cause.
I attached a gradation-pattern testprint. Maybe someone can see something more on it.

The image goes up to the edge of the paper. The white boarder comes from the scan of the print.
Today we ordered the laserunit. Its a whole unit with the 4 lasers.
I attach an other example of the print. It's a Y-gradation-test-print. Maybe someone can see something more on it.

I've seen similar errors on other machines when the write units have been faulty. Swap the write unit and you'll be good to go.
