Re: konica 250 scanning
If by software you mean Pagescope Cabinet, then you must make sure that it is configured properly and that you have created an exception for port 21 in the firewall.
Things to configure are the login credentials (from within PS Cabinet) and the home folder (where all the scans are going to go). You must also ensure that the FTP server included with PS Cabinet is running.
You can then setup the machine with a scanning one touch button that will need the following info:
Button Name: This is what will display on the copier when you go to the address book.
Detination: IP or DNS Name of the computer running the software
Folder: / (This is all you need if you make the home folder within the software the same folder that you want your scans to go into)
Username: Username you set within the credentials
Password: Password associated with the username
You could also setup scan to file which doesn't require any software at all, but it will need a user account setup and a shared folder.
You should also try giving the PC in question that is running any of this software a static IP address.
If you are still having issues with PS Cabinet (I am just assuming that this is what you are using), then try this instead.
Microsoft Internet Information Services.docPlease don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends. -

If you put the scan folder IE:SCANDOCS under a public folder with read/write permissions, you don't have to have a windows login or p/w. Aywhere else you do.
In XP try create the scan folder under shareddocuments, under properties, sharing, check allow users to make changes.
In Vista/Win7, create the scan folder under users/public. Go under sharing, advanced sharing and set permissions full control for everyone. You may have to create the everyone identity in add/edit. Check security tab for full control permissions for everyone. In Win7, network and sharing center be sure the network is home or work, not public. Go to advanced sharing settings and select the following:
Turn on file and printer sharing
Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can read and write files in public folders
Turn off password protected sharing
save changes.
Now web into the c250 with admin p/w usually 12345678
add new destination in address book and check main.
Use the hostname of the pc so you don't have to static the ip address. (fall back to using ip address if hostname won't work.)
Insert the shared scan folder name SCANDOCS or \SCANDOCS in "directory" or "path" (cant remember).
For username and password, put anything. Cannot be blank.
If destination folder is created anywhere but under public, you will need win login account and password.Comment
