We sell and service KonMin mainly however boss saw a good deal on a used Oce 2222c and thought it would be a good idea to buy it. I know this machine crosses to a KonMin C220 and I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible, through soft switches perhaps, to make this machine think it was a C220 so we woundn't have to stock Oce supplies. Also does anyone know if the optimization firmware from KonMin would work on the Oce.
Any help is appreciated.

I look after some old Oce 35 & 45 PPM colour machines the U.K and they run with Minolta toners and I.U's so you may not need to stock them anyway.
I have also seen a Develop machine come up with the Minolta logo at initialization presumably after a firmware upgrade. I don't know what I.U's it was using though as I did the call as a favour for somebody else but presumably if it thinks it's a minolta in the firmware it will want to recognise minolta I.U's and toners

Thanks for the info Dickie. Do you know if the method to enter service mode is the same between the two models?

Service entry is the same but there is another security level which can be enabled after the usual stop 00 stop 01 entry.
If this is switched on the default code is 8 zero's (00000000) but if some clever dick changes it and forgets the password then you are back into the nightmare scenario of having to change the main PCB.

Thanks Dickie. I have performed the copier sex change and now have a KonMin C220 instead of Oce 2222c. I appreciate the help.

Does anyone know if an unmodified OCE VL 2222c will accept Bizhub c220 toner?
