    Oce v Canon v Bizhub

    Hi guys 1st timer here - I run a small printshop currently using a xerox docucentre C6550I (Australian model no) need to upgrade & my 2 choices are 2nd hand Oce cs650 pro (comes with full maintenance plan 5years) or a brand new Canon ImageRunner Advance C7055 (also full maintenance plan 5years). Lease on the Oce is less than Canon but click charge is 1cent on colour more expensive. so with volumes that I am currently doing they will cost roughly the same each month. I would love to hear opinions on each machine. thanks -- Just been offered a Bizhub C6501 pro as well. Sales rep says that the cs650 had registration and skew problems & that the C6501 has fixed these issues. Which would be the better machine as all come with Customer expectation sheets which service backup will guarantee running as per sheet for lease term. thanks

      The Oce CS650 is a Bizhub C6500.
      We dont have any such issues with these models.
      These machines are light production models, whereas the Canon iRAC7055 is a higher volume office model. Canon equiv to the bizhubs is the C9000 series.
      The bizhubs are also more of a printer than a copier/scanner so keep that in mind when deciding. Printing is much better with the RIP.
      I cant tell you for sure about the Canons as I dont have any of those in my area yet, but the bizhubs are pretty solid and good quality as long as they're kept up.

          Thanks for the info - Is there much difference between the Bizhub C6500 & new latest model Bizhub C6501 - I know the c6500 is over 4 years old & the minolta's sales rep told me that the c6500 had registration issues and that the C6501 has resolved them - but the Oce guy knows of no rego problems with the C6500 (their Oce cs650 pro)

              The C6501 is not the latest model. It has been replaced by the bizhub PRO C7000 and bizhub PRESS C7000.

              The C6501 is a great machine but as Kronical said they need to have been properly looked after.

                      We have a Bh pro 6500 in the office. As I am the unique tech, i've always done all about its mainteinance. My coworker run several type and tick of paper and it has always been solid and relyable. It is the second Km color production printer we have. First was a pro 500 and it had problems in general, added to the need to do PM kits every 100K prints. I like it.

                              Duplex Document Feeder (DF-609)
                              Fiery Controller External (IC-303)
                              Bulk Paper Tray 6000 sheets (PF-601)
                              Dehumidifier for Bulk Paper Tray(HT-504)
                              Booklet Finisher (FS-607)
                              Post Inserter for Finisher (PI-502)
                              Spectrophotometer (ES-1000)

                              it has 1.5 mill & has been on Oce full maintence since new & will be on full maintenance if I purchase for 5 years

                              will be getting the config of the C6501 in next few days - the canon doesn't come with rip
