Hi there everyone,

Does anyone know if there are a setting or firmware, and if there is firmware, what ver. it is, where you could enable the HTTP setting in you CS Remote Care on B751/601 machines?

I see that EMail, Modem and Fax are available.

Thanks
Eugene

that engine does not support http csrc, nothing you can do about that.

It would take KM all of about 2-3 hours to write firmware to allow the 751 to send HTTP...while they are at it they could do this for all the emperon based controllers...sure would make a difference for getting vcare set up on some of these accounts where port 25/2525 is blocked..maybe I'll submit a design change request...Emujo

good luck with that

at my branch theres only 1 office machine setup on http csrc and its the one i setup as an experiment.

all the rest are via the gprs modems - these work pretty well except when dumbasses keep unplugging them, even with the do not unplug sticker on the power supply.

admittedly the KM version csrc modems are firmware coded to communicate with the KM csrc server, however the manufacturer makes these modems specifically for anyone who has the $$$ and could surely make one suitable for a dealers specific server too.

you could try hacking the modem to get it to do what is desired too ;)

We had the same problem, customers unplug the modems and never reconnect them. Yeah you are right, "dumbasses". The reason for me to go via HTTP is that some customers are on remote locations, and the service for the modems isn't great so we go back and forth to check and/or reconnect them. But I think I'll wait for the firmware, hopefully it will come soon and we will cut down on unnecessary travelling.

there will be no further development done on that engine, its basically at a dead end. I would be very surprised if firmware is ever released that allows http csrc for it.

Firmware updates are usually a result of either customer, tech requests, technology updates, or bug fixes..KM absolutly loves CS remote care..it's great for the customer and I use the Vcare stats on almost a daily basis..if enough techs/customers asked for it I'm sure it would be written...The 751/501s will be around for at least another 5 years...362 series I think you're correct as this is a different controller. ( I'd like to see this at least migrate to a one way email...how many times have you seen port 110/10110 blocked..) Emujo

Give it a try - let us know what they say.

most of my machines are in govt operations which have severely locked down networks anyway, HTTP aint an option unless you want to write a 50 page application and explanation as to why and even then they'll say, nahhh...
