    [Misc] Bizhub 36 A3

    Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone knows how to enable/disable a3 via the bypass?

If this is the relative to the bizhub 42, it just won't do it. The longest piece of paper it will accept is 14". You probably already know that it'll jam over 14.25"

Isn't it a weird design? Legal size scan area. Puny document feeder. Print area 11" x 14". It uses some of the same consumables as the bizhub 423 series. There is a crazy attachment kit to allow use of the internal finisher.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Yes it is the little brother to the 42, so its basically a 363 with a few inches missing of the side. We got it understanding that it could take A3 of the bypass and everything seems good but yea like you said it just jams up.

Such a weird design its like they just slapped a C35 one on top!

It looks as though it will make a fine high volume printer/copier, but I don't see it as a great scanner. It looks as though they retrofitted the scanner off an HP LJ M3035MFP. We placed a dozen of them 4 months ago, and I haven't done any service yet. Except of course, the A3 paper size situation. =^..^=

they want you to buy the larger machine, ie, 423 series for A3

this series was specifically designed as a a4/letter size printer workhorse and considering the print engine used it certainly is that.

a3 while theres no technical reason the engine couldn't do it from the bypass is unlikely to ever be possible due to "marketing reasons" see above.

as a scanner though, no way, its a c35 scanner and adf which is meant for light to medium duty use at best.

Its just weird how the first news we had on the machine was talking about its ability to take A3 off the bypass and Im sure it can do it in Europe and even the training talks about it...

I remember seeing these in school when I went to class for the 423 series....I was not impressed....and we have one sitting at our shop...that a salesmen sold and forgot to mention it didn't do much more than legal....so customer didn't want it and we have to find someone else to sell it to.

                yeah, not happening.

all the current brochures and specifications specify it as an A4 printer with a maximum paper size of A4/Legal

looks like they took the bypass tray straight out of the 423 series spare parts shelf, but it certainly wont do A3.

                  Oddly enough, TAEU1100179EN00 says,
                  and I quote.
"Yes it is possible. You can print A3 in duplex via using the bypass tray. But it is not possible to copy on A3"

                  WTF.

                    WTF indeed.

does the print driver even support A3?

That's a nice little conundrum. Two sentences that contradict each other.
