Just thought I'd share this...
After pulling my hair out for a "server connect" issue, original tech had updated firmware to D1 and email stopped, I found this little gem...
New firmware for the C652 series ( standard setting on the new C764 and down) puts a 3rd option in the job restriction settings in admin/changing "from" address..new choice is "Logged in user" and is the default. Only seems to be a problem when authentication is turned on and AD is not being used...Default from address is now Admin@companyname.com. I checked both the admin and MFP from address and they were both set to copier@companyname.com..but under Email settings the from address was Admin@companyname.com. This was causing my server connect error as Exchange wanted a valid email address and Admin@...was not being accpeted. As soon as I set the job restricions setings to "Admin" the MFP started using the from address I had assigned earlier and email started back up..Hope this helps someone...Emujo
