This c650's controller (IC 409, I think....I can look it up though) keeps showing codes at random times like F3 and 03.
I have several manuals for these controllers and similar models, but I cant seem to find a break-down of what the codes themselves denote.

Thanks guys!

**bump** Seriously? Nobody knows the meanings of the controller codes? I find it very strange that there is no documentation on them...

You will need the ic service manual. It has them in it. It also says that any not listed means the system pwb is suspect!

Thanks Mr Spock.
Are there two service manuals...because I have one and I almost certain they are not in mine.
Maaaaybe you could give me a page number or email/post the few pages with codes?

I have found these only in the ic-408 manual. None of the others seem to have it. These should be the same across most of the models.

Thanks, I feel much smarter now! :)

The codes that I am getting aren't in the list, but I only notice them during working operation...

As you hinted and stated in the manual "Any other code not listed: Motherboard is faulty."
I really doubt that is this case (for today). The capacitors are good and it works very well 95% of the time.

The 409 needs to be restarted often; however, I do recall reading something about a patch for these controllers when they can't come out of standby.

It will also do some strange things. Sometimes immediately after the copier is turned off the Fiery turns off. Also, I have noticed that sometimes the Fiery will turn off when the copier is on too.

I assumed this is some sort of standby/power saving, but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to when it actually does this.

Anyways, if I can't get the patch that I believe exists, I will probably start a new thread.

Thanks again, Mr. Spock

(sorry for rambling)

I have the IC-409 Fiery Service guide, got something to trade? Or email me and I'll give you a break on the price.

Hey Paul, I actually have
"Fiery ® X3eTY 50_45C-KM
EFI Part Number: 45062331
14 May 2007"

However, it is lacking what I feel would be crucial information.
Anyways, check you pm :)
