Hello,
I am getting spots and speckles on my printouts. I went through all of the print quality tests and after further investigation I discovered that black toner is sticking in spots and sizable clumps on the transfer belt. I cleaned the surface of the belt with a cotton ball only to have it repeat. I can not say for sure if the repeat are in the same spots.
This problem started about 2 weeks ago.
I do not usually use this printer often, maybe a few time a year to print color marketing material.
It sits in a nook of my office. Does long period of non use affect toner?
I emailed Lexmark and they were good about helping me identify the transfer belt, but the referred me to a authorized dealer for troubleshooting. I am capable of doing the repair if I can figure our what is causing it without replacing toner, photoconductor and transfer belt.
I have 91% life of the transfer belt, almost full on the toner and 78% on the photoconductor.
Any assistance would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks!
