    [Misc] Brothers MFC machines

Trying to understand Brothers Duplex configurations.

I sold a brothers MFC 8860 years ago, the customer can scan and print from her computer to this machine
and put page 1 on 1 side and page 2 on the back. if you go to the machine and depres the duplex key, it will show 4 ways to duplex. In March I sold her a MFC 8480 she can not do the same duplex from her
computer on this model. If I go to the machine and press duplex it only shows 2 ways to duplex.
My question in looking for a machine that will work like the MFC 8860. I have called Brothers and they
really can not give me an answer, to replace with a correct machine is it Duplex Printing and not just Duplex copy.... Any Brothers dealers can explain this.

if you must stick with brother, make sure the model ends with MFC-xxxDN (d is for duplex and N if for networking), also make sure in the driver duplex is enabled, sometime the driver utility wont by default turn on all features especially if the machine comes stock with out the duplex feature.

    good luck

Also most of the newer "DN" models will only duplex in printing but not coping. you will have to look at the specs carefully to determine which models do what.
