I have a couple of bizhub C35 machines that are giving me the same intermittent error code. Its 0094 code and it happens a couple of times a week it resets o.k does anyone else have the same problem on this mc.
The service manual says its transfer retraction problems /idc sensor failurewhich is a bit vague anyone got any ideas or had the same problem themselves.

You need to clean this sensor . Blow it out with a blower brush or air can.

-this a problem of retraction transfer roller mecanism..
-you must see and adjust/clean the solenoide and the pine inside of the solenoide in the right door ....
-see the service manual...
is note very easy.but you must do this...

It would help if you would show or at least state by name (IE "S-3") what sensor you were talking about.

Could be the solenoid not working as it should(foam worn, or loose connector) or the gears for the movement of the transfer roller that are not in line...( check service manual 7.4.33 2nd transfer release solenoid (SD2) disassembly procedure

But most likely:

0094: 2nd image transfer pressure/retraction failure

Cover(A0VD7061) does not move smoothly due to the following reasons and then 0094
error appears.(Cover motion is linked to 2nd image transfer retraction.)
1. Lack of Torsion Coil spring force (A0VD7062)
2. Burr on Cover(A0VD7061)
3. Tight fitting between the cover and the guide(A0VD7064)  secondary factor

[Countermeasure]
1. Strengthen the Torsion Coil spring: 0.09N  0.14N
2. Eliminate the burr on the cover. (gate of the mold)
3. Secure larger gap between the cover and the guide.

[Action in the field]
1. Replace the Torsion Coil spring: A0VD706201 → A0VD706203
2. Shave the burr off (by Service Engineer)

page 6 item 3 from the parts manual (A0VDM50000 Photo sensing)

There you will also see Item 6(spring) and 7(cover) what is likely causing the problems...

Seal (sound-deadening material) is sticky and causing the solinoid the not move correctly

just remove the small pad that gets sticky

..............
Symptom> 0094 error occurs (2nd image transfer pressure / retraction failure)
[C t t ]
TABT1301276EN**
Contents] The C0094 occurs at power ON and print ON, etc.
<Cause>
Operation failure that the lever of paper feed solenoid (A034M20000) sticks to the seal
material (A034214000) and does not part easily due to deterioration of the seal
material.

Nothing wrong with digging up an old thread, it makes perfect sense it will have more subscribers!

8 years is a long time though ;)
fall 2021 both these models go end of life, i feel sorry for anyone having to service one when parts are obsolete.
