Does anyone have any tips for upgrading the firmware on these new series machines? I was told to extract every file to the root of the usb drive, but even then the machine never comes to the firmware screen. I am using a 2gb usb, so that should not be an issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Are you plugging the drive into the correct usb port? The port is covered by a plate that you have to loosen a screw to slide it out of the way.

always works for me, and i use an ultra povo 2gb stick and a recent 4gb one.

copying the content of the folder containing the actual firmware to the root of the key is how to do it, ie there should be lots n lots of files visible in the root of the stick. Also make sure the stick is formatted to the correctly.

First off all, you have to format the USB stick before extracting the firmware to it. Don't know why but this is what Konica told me if you experience any problems. Format is as FAT32.

Than open the firmware package and open the folder you see.

For example, the firmware for the Bizhub C224:

Zip archive is called A1610Y0-F000-G20-66-100-CHECKSUM-4992. When you open that ZIP file you'll see one folder, open that one. 2 Folders show up and a bat file. The contents of the folder named A1610Y0-F000-G20-66-100 need to be extracted to the root of you USB device. You can ignore the bat file en the folder called CW.

Good luck.

We had trouble initially with our USB sticks, but it seems that the cheaper ones did the trick.

We also tested USB sticks with using the folders for the models and this worked on some and not others. For the ones it didn't work on, copying the files to the root usually fixed the issue.

PS. miesjel - I hope that you have the optional web browser installed if you are using G20-66. More to the point, G20-66 was binned as KM suggested rolling back to the modified version of 65, but now G00-68 is out.

What kind of problems can you expect if you use ver G20-66 on a machine without LK-101?

Konica Minolta have said that installing the firmware for the web browser on a machine that doesn't have it can cause some stability issues.
