Glad to see you can appreciate some ( even if it's bad) humor....So to really try to help, why do you want to re-chip the IUs? For everything from the C353 and newer, there is firmware to disable the messages and allow the MFP to run til failure...Re-chipping will just tell the MFP that you just put a new IU in and will lead to CQ issues anyway..And you are correct, it's a mess to pull the chips as the IU are designed to be replaced, not re-built..I have never used one, but there are devices that will reset the chips while still in the IU...Thought about looking at one just before the PPLM firmware came out. You could always patronize the advertisers on this site that pay to advertise here and keep the site free for everyone to use.

It has few screws on the front, you need to pull the IU out of the machine only few inches. It is very flimsy and takes a few minutes to take it out, watch out for the charge cleaner not to break, pull it out a bit as it is made from 2 pcs believe it or not :D

I think 4 screws one is well hiden next the handle above waste toner pipe i THINK TOP RH CORNER . I managed to break the cover once. You can not take the cover off completely just like 2 inches and do a little twist CClockwise I think , then you have to dig out the chip. you may brake the chip holder, but it won't matter as long as the contacts of the chip won't short on anything .Good Luck.

It is always fun to change those. But as I am using the PPLM firmware not any more. Thanks EMUJO!

Buy a resetter and reset the unit without removing the chip it takes about 15 seconds an no frustration! If you need a resetter I have lots in stock.
(Ok lets not have the negative feed back, I am an advertiser here and have been for over 4 years. I just thought I'd offer incase he's been ignoring the banner adds at the top of the page.)

You can buy them for $88.34 here's the link Konica Minolta Bizhub Infinite resetter Reset NA C451 C550 C650 IU610 CMYK (https://www.kopy-kat.com/C451_550.html) . You do have to disassemble to get access to the chips inside, though to be honest that is very simple. I remove the screws with a power drill, and then only put 1 to 2 back in so I can access it again easily next time.

You don't need any chips, simply install the life stop firmware then you can turn off the drum, fuser & transfer life warning.
