Has anyone seen this error and know why it happens?

ERROR: ioerror
OFFENDING COMMAND: setcolorspace

STACK:

This came out of the machine when the customer tried to print a Word document on their Mac OSX's (varying versions). From PCs with PS it worked just fine with the same document.

When I got on-site the customer said he'd fixed the problem by pulling the ethernet cable from the machine and putting it back in (?), so now it works.

Has anyone seen this or have any idea why it happens?

A customer have reported the same PS error on a C654 when printing from OSX 10.7 and 10.8, we have not seen it ourselves yet.

fyi, any firmware version before 68 on the current series machines = absolute shit and should be updated asap.

Thanks guys.
This was a swing-by-late-friday-afternoon-job, didn't have my kit with me for some reason. I'll keep an eye on this machine and see if the errors return. And I agree, firmware.

Had this on a C284 today. Customer was printing from Mac OSX 10.7. After power off-on the print jobs came out without any error.

We still have this error sometimes on a C654 when printing from Mac.
Any updates?

Like EarthKmTech said; Firmware. Anything pre-v. 68 is crap and should be updated without hesitation. This has solved pretty much all the problems we've had on the 4-series, which has almost exclusively been weird bugs.

Just wanted to give heads up, I just had this issue on a c454 with g00-66 FW. I couldn't get color docs to print from the macs 10.6.x all three would print b/w. I did a full shutdown and everything is good so far. I will update fw to 70 just for good measure.

The reason this error is sticking around after one bad print job is because the PS code didn't send the "END" footer to the PS print job, therefore there are still settings stuck in the device as the machine doesn't know to dump the settings correctly after the error has occurred.

Firmware and drivers seem to fix the issue, but I have seen cases of some Adobe products needing "Pre-Flight" turned off to stop the Colour Space issues.

I have a customer with the same issue on a Bizhub C554 with the ver. 72 fw. Issue happening out of XCode. Rebooting the machine temporarily resolves issue.

I to have this issue on a c554 the firmware is .72 the driver is the latest only seems to be a problem with Mac . the OSx that have the problem are 10.12 10.13 10.14 mainly 10.14 but all word, excel even PDFs print with the below error . Windows work fine.

We tried the ethernet cable and removing the power. comes back in a week. seen as its seems to be a mac postscript error we are trying to rest the NIC and will let you know how that goes .

Any other advice anyone can offer would be great
