years ago people bought diesel burning vehicles because it was cheaper than gas-because it is not as refined as gas- now diesel is 50 cent more per gallon than gas. why?

Here in the heartland it\'s approaching $1.00 more for diesel. Why? I don\'t know but with the drop in gas it could be the refining effort is on gas not diesel. next it\'s the homeowners turn with heating oil or natural gas. Sucks to be petroleum dependant!!!!

Diesel vehicles usualy get better mileage so your cost per mile is less expensive (except when diesel cost a dollar more then gas) and diesel engines require less maintenance and last much longer also making them cheaper to operate over the long haul.
