This is now the 2nd time in 40K that i have seen this. The first time manually flipped the blade. PM, DV, Drum all are around 250K maybe slightly more. Every now and again you get this when a blade is bad or its a old blade.

I will replace it once more, to see if its just happened to be an old pm kit. But any suggestions. Any one ever increase the pressure the blade makes on the drum? is there even an adjustment?

I consider myself a 920/950 specialist, but this is puzzling, because as i have said never seen it happen so fast on 2 blades in a row. Cleaner unit has about 5.5M on it as does dv unit. Runs like a champ other then this...

thanks,

First thing never call yourself an expert on a machine, that's just asking for trouble. machines have ears don't you know.

Is there an aircon unit near the machine, as I had a problem with a C8000 with flipping blades in the mornings and I couldn't figure out what was causing it. I happend to be at the customers one morning when the aircon guy was there and chatting with him he told me than when the units first come on in the mornings the air temperature changes rappidly thus i thought it could be causing the problem.

I informed the customer and they were happy with me to move the machine to the opposite wall, and since then I have never been back with that problem and its done over a Million copies.

ok I am NOT AN EXPERT, i am the guy other tech call when 7085/920/950/1050/1051 are acting up, i have a few print shops and we do alot of black and white where we self maintain.

SO after changing out the blades, any other item that could create blade marks, besides changing out the cleaner unit. I have 7 920/950 as this locations i can test some parts.

is there any adjustment to increase blade pressure on the drum? never had to before but 1st for everything...

Hi,
One issue i have had in these cleaning units is the earth connection to the cleaning fur brush roller. Try taking the shaft and bearing off the back of the cleaning unit and thoroughly cleaning it.
Hope this helps

9 Miillion on the meter, 9 million on the CLEANER UNIT ONLY ON ITS SECOND TONER COLLECTION BRUSH...

what i think it was is 2 issues, one you can see below that bearing that the scrapper roller, rides in was dry and in 2 peices. The other issues was there was a 95% chance we had some old blades, the kind that came in the white boxes, that really dont work for production printing, I got a huge lot of 920, and 7085 items i think they were in there.

Took me a while to clean and rebuild this until, but thanks for all the help.

also has some used gears, that were in better shape then what was there, the coupler unit that drives the Toner Collection Brush was so worn away that i was surprise it didn't brake 5m earlier...

reason 1 - bearing on the cleaning scraping roller was shot (pic's above)

reason 2 - cleaning roller was was past due.. also guy cleaning my machines was not cleaning them as well as I do... that has no been rectified..

BLADE marks were from old blades, prob from 7085 or 8085, etc... will know more as it unfolds...

thanks,
