Was getting an SC 541 fusing lamp error. I found the lamp broke and used a lamp from a MP w2400 we here as a parts machine. Then got a SC541-1. Replaced the thermistor - no go still get code 541-1.

I tried something different here - I had a fuser unit like brand new only 1900 sq. ft. on it from a mp w2400 (replaced the 240w in Rioch product cycle) and put it in a 240w. I found it didn't seem to fit so I put the fuser rollers in the 240w frame.

I also had a crack in the exit door so I took the paper exit door and exit paper unit from the mp w2400 - I have all the connectors from the exit door matching up. But could it be something is different in the wiring for the mp w2400 and 240w paper exit door/exit unit that is causing this code out?

I am stumped any help or tips appreciated.

I went into service mode turned machine off then powered up - and went to SC542 after a few minutes.

I know the lamp is same for both the wMP w2400 and 240w.

I think the hot roller thermistor may not be touching the roller. Back it out again tomorrow.

I think the problems are the lamp which is not connected correctly, or like you say, the thermistors may not touching the hot roller, or they needs to be clean.

Take care

I am not sure if the electrical is the same but according to the manual the 2400 does use a different hot roller so the thermisters may also be different. When Ricoh changed the hot rollers on the analogs and you installed the wrong hot roller even though it would physically fit you would get this kind of error. It can also be the. like you said the thermisters or contacts to the roller. I would make sure I had the correct roller installed and change the thermisters.
Good Luck

Well, I think I will change out the hot roller. Thanks for the tip.
