Is there a separate part number for the front pawl with handle, for the right door? The parts manual only shows a door assembly. Maybe there's a bulletin or parts breakdown I'm not seeing? =^..^=

See attatched pic of PC-203 parts 20919 Pawls are part# 4348 3053 01 (#2)and 4348 3052 01(#14). Usually #14 is the one that breaks(the one toward the front of the copier)

I see it, but that part is not numbered. Like my manual it appears to only come as an assembly.

Yes, the right door of the copier.

It was kind of difficult to get to, so I felt compelled to try to make it work. You'll like my MacGyver. The front pawl was broken into three pieces. I drilled all the pieces #59 number drill, strung together the parts onto two pieces of large paper clip wire, and liberally applied superglue. To my surprise, it's holding, but I don't know for how long.

I've highlighted the appropriate part. Maybe somebody has a graveyard machine with this part intact?

It looks kind of similar to the one on the copier. Could it be the same?

Shadow & blazebusiness: thanks for your responses. =^..^=

blackcat4866,

I am checking and cross referencing this part and the closest that I can come up with is from a bizhub 423/363/283/223.
Part number A1UD 7103 01 Lock Claw /Front, on page 28 of the parts manual.
give it a look and see what you think.

Nice idea. I've had some familiarity with this item on the bizhub 423, so I can say with some certainty that it wouldn't work. The handle is shaped differently, and the swivel point for the 423 handle is out at the end of the shaft, not on the other side of the handle.

The PC-203 handle actually looks pretty close. I'll have to check the graveyard. There may be a cassette base I can take a closer look at. Darn! It appears that the PC-203 handle also swivels from the end. So much for that idea.

Again thanks for brainstorming with me. =^..^=

One day we all will have 3D-Printers and make our own parts.....

red painted screws need to be disturbed to access the transfer section on door, c250, c252, c300, c352, c200, c203, c253, c353 disassembly is utterly forbidden, because its aligned in the factory only.

you MUST replace the entire side door, hence why no parts are listed under the transfer assy, including the locking mech.

Disobey this advice and it will end up costing a transfer belt too, along with a new door, so just do it properly, and do it once.

I noticed the red painted screws, but alas, there was nothing to do but tear into it. Thanks for the advice. =^..^=

I have replaced that door before for that same problem... It's a PITA. If you can find a fix for that pawl, more power to you. :)

I've changed the door a number of times before, mainly for when the customer starts complaining about the exhaust fan rattling/squeaking under the transfer section.

When i came to this company, no one knew where the little clear plastic filter went with the transfer kits and so were never changing them, now they know, after i went postal. And i can also change those side doors quite quickly because of them.

It was truly unpleasant to get to that wiring harness.

I was amazed that the repaired part survived until I got the door changed. Note: how the four pieces are strung together on the wire.
It's not one of my prettier repairs:
